One Nation Asks Government to Cancel Terrorist’s Citizenship

Government backflips and supports One Nation's call for tougher deportation laws for terrorists

Today I asked the Government three pretty common sense questions.1. The government has announced it wants to make it easier to strip dual citizens, convicted of terrorism related offences, of their Australian Citizenship and have them deported, so long as this would not render them stateless. One Nation has been advocating this policy for many years. What has caused the government to take up this long-standing One Nation policy?2. What is stopping the government from applying their proposed changes, not just to terrorists, but to other criminals with dual citizenships, such as chronic repeat offenders, gang members or those convicted of severe violent crimes?3. Experts say many potential terrorists will plan a domestic attack if their passport is cancelled. In light of this, why has the Government not changed its current policy on passport cancellation when it knows full well the current policy places the lives of innocent Australians at risk?I thought they were pretty straightforward questions but once again the Government struggled to give a straight answer. The Australian people deserve better.

Pauline Hanson asked the Government three pretty common sense questions.

One Nation has been advocating this policy for many years. What has caused the government to take up this long-standing One Nation policy?

We thought they were pretty straightforward questions but once again the Government struggled to give a straight answer. The Australian people deserve better.
